The god of cricket : Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar turns 37 today



Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar turned 37 today. Millions of his fans in India and abroad are wishing him a very Happy Birthday and want him to play for long. It will be fitting birthday gift for him, if his team wins the IPL 2010 final tomorrow.

Sachin Tendulkar, who is considered as the god of cricket, has set many milestones for the future generations to come. He has achieved everything in cricket except for a World Cup victory for India.

Sachin has become a national treasure and he is undoubtedly the most popular figure in the country today. His 21-year-long illustrious career says everything about his performance and contribution.

Sachin has achieved a lot in Test and ODI cricket. He does not play in the latest T20 format. However, he proved himself in Twenty20 cricket too, being the highest run getter in IPL 2010.

Sachin has played 166 test matches so far and scored 13,447 runs at an average of 55.57. He has scored 47 hundreds and 54 fifties. His highest score remains 248*. He has also taken 44 wickets in test cricket.

In ODI, Sachin is the only batsman in the history to score a double century. He has played 442 ODIs and scored 17,594 runs at an average of 45.12. He has hit 46 hundreds and 93 fifties. His highest score remains 200*. Sachin has also taken 154 wickets in ODI.

There is no player, who can match Sachin Tendulkar's charisma. Let's wish and pray that the national hero stays fit and keeps playing for long in the best interest of a cricket crazy nation, which does not consider cricket complete without Sachin Tendulkar.
